Hello and welcome to the Waynesville Fly Shop! We are proud to offer a huge selection of fly tying and fly fishing equipment as well as a fly tying bench open to the public, library resources including maps, texts, and magazines for planning your Great Smoky Mountains fly fishing adventure, and a very comfortable rocking chair! We have some of the most knowledgeable staff and guides in the area, offer excellent customer service, and take pride in our efforts to help protect our region's fly fishing resources and heritage.

The Waynesville Fly Shop is staffed by fly fishermen who have extensive knowledge of our local trout waters. Several of our guides and staff members have several decades of experience fishing these waters and can show you where the best water is and how to catch them when you get there! A quick stop at our shop can provide you with all the information and tackle you'll need to catch trout in the Great Smoky Mountains of Western North Carolina.

We are proud to offer the Temple Fork Outfitters (TFO) Casting For Recovery (CFR) and Project Healing Waters (PHW) rods that help support survivors of breast cancer and the brave servicemen and women wounded in conflicts overseas. TFO contributes substantial funds to these causes for each of the special rods that the Waynesville Fly Shop sells and we encourage anyone interested in either of these fine fly fishing rods to contact the shop for more information. We offer a complete package for the Casting For Recovery rod including the rod with pink ribbon emblem near the handle, an MK1 reel with pink backing and special Jim Teeny pink fly line, a pink rod tube and of course, a pink hat! Now that's showing your support for a great cause!! The Project Healing Waters rod can also be equipped with an MK1 reel and camo line, and can be matched with a camo rod tube! The Waynesville Fly Shop is proud of what TFO is doing with these programs and will include a box of dry flies or nymphs valued over twenty dollars to anyone who purchases a complete outfit (CFR or PHW program rod, MK1 reel and SA or RIO line). This is a great way to help those in need and get some great fly fishing equipment at the same time.

We also offer package deals on our premium equipment, a rent to own program, and free lessons when you purchase a rod and reel from us. The package deals change each month and feature an incentive gift or percentage off from a complete package including a rod, reel, and line. The rent to own program allows you to rent the equipment for a small daily fee, and if you decide to buy a rod and reel, the rental fee is applied to the purchase price of the equipment so no money is lost on the rental. If you purchase a rod and reel from us you're eligible for a free casting lesson to help you get started in this wonderful outdoor sport.
